Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 4 Reacting over the reported introduction of sale of priority tickets for darshan of Mata Vaishno Devi shrine by the “Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board”, Samajwadi Party state leaders including its secretary general Ram Prakash Sharma, D.K. Singh, Ram Singh, Sham Lal Mahasha, and Iqbal Singh Iqbal, through a joint statement have condemned the said decision, while denouncing it as unnecessary and uncalled for, which tantamount to creating a wedge between rich and poor. As per a press release, the said decision, they claimed, is not only surprising but also smacks of the mentality of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board as business establishment, to flee and loot the pilgrims, without caring for a while that what adverse effect shall it have on the poor pilgrims, who shall have to wait endlessly for their turn to have darshan of the diety. Such an order, they said is unheard in the annals of history least in the democratic dispension, which guarantees equals status and rights to all citizens irrespective of their caste, creed, sex and colors. They appealed the governor S.K. Sinha to withdraw the said order at the earliest, lest the public in general, resort to agitational path against the same, the release added. |
