| Jammu becomes 25th city to have CGHS Dispensary | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 4 Jammu today became 25th city in the country to have the Central Government Health Scheme Dispensary that provides complete medicare facilities to the central government employees, pensioners and their family members. Union Health Secretary Naresh Dayal inaugurated the dispensary at Police Lines Hospital Gandhi Nagar today. State Secretary Health and Medical Education Department K B Jandial, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Mr. Sudhanshu Pandey, IGP Jammu Mr. K Rajinder and other senior police and civil officers besides representatives of Central Government Pensioner's Welfare Association attended the inaugural function. Addressing the gathering, Union Health Secretary congratulated the Central Government employees and pensioners living in Jammu for having the prestigious dispensary in their city. He said Jammu has got the privilege of becoming 25th city in the country to have the scheme which provides hundred percent health care coverage. Highlighting the salient features of the scheme, he said the most unique part of this scheme was that it also covers the follow up treatment required after major surgeries. He said the scheme has been drafted to make it all comprehensive and most user-friendly among all the existing health schemes. He said to ensure best treatment to the subscribers, the patients are also referred to the health institutions including, diagnostic, labs and hospitals empanelled under the scheme, Mr Dayal said that the government has decided to computerize all CGHS dispensaries in a phased manner for better maintenance of records of patients. He further said that an electronic card for patients would soon be introduced which would enable them to get treatment from any dispensary across the country. Later, IGP Jammu K Rajindera presented a memento to the Union Health Secretary. |
