| ACC Udhampur register two wickets win in Cricket | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 4 Amateur Cricket Club (ACC) Udhampur registered a two-wicket victory over Modern Cricket Club (MCC) to make it into the second round of ongoing Prof Pran Nath Malhotra (knock-out) Cricket Tournament organized by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at GGM Science College ground, here today. Earlier, ACC won the toss and put MCC to bat. The decision to bat first helped ACC bowled out MCC for a small total of 127 runs in 29.5 overs of the 40 overs match. In reply, ACC played slow but steady innings and chased the total in 38.3 overs for the loss of eight wickets. Naresh was top scorer from MCC with 41-ball 37 including five boundaries while Sunny, Arun and Parshotam contributed 13 runs each. Nipu and Anil shared two wickets each from ACC. Vikrama and Naresh took one each. Batting second, ACC struggled against the MCC bowling but succeeded in surpassing the MCC total in 38.3 overs with two wickets in hand. Parul and Naresh were highest scorers with 22 runs each, followed by Gourav and Tarun who added 18 and 14 runs to the total respectively. From MCC, Ajay took three wickets while Umesh, Ashish and Parshotam shared a piece each. |
