| Coca-Cola, Sahyog hold environ rally, plant saplings | | | Early Times Reporter R.S Pura | June 5 Marking inauguration of World Environment Week, Jammu and Kashmir unit of soft drink major, Coca Cola in association with a local NGO, Sahyog India today organised an environment conservation rally of school students. The rally began from Peer Baba at Kullian village near the town and after passing through various localities and markets of the town culiminated at Sahyog India complex. The rally was flagged off by Regional Director Pollution Control Board Jammu Ashwani Kumar Gupta. A plantation drive was also started in the area and Coca Cola provided the students of the area more than 500 saplings, which the latter enthusiastically planted at various places across and near the town. Ram Sahai, President, Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry was the chief guest on the occasion. Ashwani Jojra welcomed the guests and expressed gratitude towards the support extended by the Coca Cola saying that it is only with the active participations of the companies like Coca Cola and other people in such programmes, the social objectives could be achieved. Later, Coca Cola offered a water cooler for the children adopted by Sahyog India. Speaking the occasion, Anurag Srivastava, Factory Manager, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, Jammu said that Coca-Cola has always taken keen interest in environment conservation and organizing programmes that help the local community. |
