| Militants lob grenades at family quarters of police personnel | | | Early Times Reporter
Jammu | June 5
Militants made an abortive attempt to target family quarters of police personnel with a grenade in Ganderbal district, police said today.
The militants hurled a grenade towards the family quarters of police station Kangan, 40 kms from here on Srinagar-Leh National Highway, last night, a police spokesman said.
The grenade fell short of the intended target and exploded in an open area without causing any damage.
A live grenade was also found lying on the main road outside the Fire Service Headquarters at Batmaloo in Central Srinagar last evening.
The grenade, apparently hurled by militants, was later destroyed by the bomb disposal squad, the spokesman said. |
