bHADERWAH, Sept 14: District Legal Services Authority organized National Lok Adalat on Saturday at District Court Complex Bhaderwah here under the Chairmanship of District & Sessions Judge Ashok Kumar whereas Sub Judge Bhaderwah Reenu Dogra Gupta and Munsiff Bhaderwah Sandeep Sen was also present on the occasion .Five benches were constituted in which MACT cases , Bank matters , Civil cases , Labour disputes , Civil and criminal cases pending before different courts of Bhaderwah , Doda and Gandoh also pre litigation cases were taken up for amicable settlement . On the occasion senior and Junior Advocates of Bar Association Bhaderwah / Doda and prominent citizens besides large number of litigants were present ion the day long proceedings .It is notable to mention here that Lok Adalat is one of the alternative dispute redressal mechanisms, it is a forum where disputes/cases pending in the court of law or at pre-litigation stage are settled/ compromised amicably. Lok Adalats have been given statutory status under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987.
