Secretary Cooperatives inspects site for Agri Mall

Jammu, Sept 14: Secretary to Government, Cooperative Department Abdul Majid Bhat visited Cooperative Marketing Society Bishnah to inspect the site proposed for construction of Agri Mall.
The proposed Mall, sanctioned at a cost of Rs 70 Crore under Cooperative Sector, forms an infrastructure development project. A similar Project has been sanctioned for Kashmir Division.
The Agri Mall is a multi-facility mega project and is visualized to provide facilities like Controlled Atmosphere (CA)/Cold Store, Tractors, Tillers, spray equipments, fertilizers, pesticides, weedicites, organic fertilizers/manure, vermi compost, soil testing laboratory, harvesting machinery like Combines, Threshers, husking facility and other agriculture related machinery to the farmers under one roof on sale or hire basis.
The project shall also provide facilities like Food court, Bank, ATMs, residential accommodation and recreational facilities etc. for the farmers coming from far-flung areas.
The visiting officers were told that the Cooperative Marketing Society Bishnah has 18.1 Kanals of land and being centrally located, the site is feasible for the project.
During the visit, M. M. Rehman, Registrar Cooperatives, Trikansh Bhushan, Deputy Registrar (Agri) Jammu and other officials also accompanied the secretary.
After discussion, Secretary Cooperatives asked the Deputy Registrar (Agri) Jammu to advise the management of the Society to get the Detailed Project Report (DPR) prepared by a reputed consultant.
