Jammu, Sept 16: Government College for Women Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu celebrated World ozone day with great exuberance and ardour today on the sixteenth of September.
World Ozone Day was celebrated to create awareness among masses about the importance of ozone layer, its depletion and also its hazardous effects on the world's environment.
On this occasion, principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Raj Shree Dhar along with the staff members and students of the college participated in plantation of saplings.
A symposium was also organized to commemorate this day. Students of the college presented many facts about the ozone layer and also stressed on the ways and means to protect our earth and reduce the depletion of ozone layer.
Staff members present on the occasion were Prof. Anju Bala, Dr. Pavanjeet Bali, Dr. Preeti Salathia and Dr. Ravinder Kumar. |
