Azad accompanied by Kar visits Khidmat complex
New 42-room hostel coming up in complex

Srinagar, August 31 Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad visited Khidmat Trust Complex at Abiguzar Bund here this morning. He was accompanied by Chairman of the trust and MLC Mr. Ghulam Rasool Kar.
Mr. Kar apprised Mr. Azad that one multi-storeyed hostel would come up in the complex at an estimated cost of Rs.1.50 crore where besides lodging facilities quality food on cheaper rates would be made available for the party workers from far-flung areas of the state visiting the summer capital.
Mr. Azad went round the complex and asked for completing the hostel building within six months. He also gave several suggestions to make the complex more attractive with proper landscaping.
Highlighting the role of Khidmat for dissemination of correct and true information about events all along its publication, Mr. Azad said commentaries and editorials of this paper always presented the right perspective of socio-political scenario of the state. “The articles of this paper have always been in the national and state interests and a good food for thought for general public”.
Underscoring the need for carrying forward this mission with added zest and professional intellect, he hoped that under the new socio-political scenario the Khidmat trust would flourish and make the paper more relevant and responsive towards the national and public needs.
Later, Chief Minister also had a walk on Jhelum bund to ascertain the pace of beautification work launched to rejuvenate the old glory of historic Jhelum bund that once used to be resort of high caliber international tourists. He said, he has already given directions for creating an eye-catching, palatable and highly aesthetic bund circuit from Sonawar to Chattabal all along the river Jhelum to add to the beauty of Srinagar and revive the grandeur of great river Jhelum.
Chief Minister said that a project to this effect is already underway and he would like its early completion so that other aspects of laying flower beds, green spots, lung places etc on the bund circuit would follow.
