GDC Kathua starts campaign on Swachhta Hi Sewa

Kathua, Sept 18: NSS units of GDC Kathua in continuation to keep the campaign on Swacchta Hi Sewa and Poshan Maah today NSS volunteers visited at NSS adopted village Phalote, Block Barnoti Kathua. Under these campaigns, volunteers organised various activities in the village. Volunteer and Programme Officers delivered lecture to students of Govt. High School Phalote, Kathua on the topic Nutrition, Obesity, Promotion of diet and impact of fast food and package food items and say no to polythene and plastic waste management. Volunteers also conducted door to door campaign on Swachhta Hi Sewa and and Poshan Maah in the village. In the end of the day, volunteers organized big rally on Swacchta Hi Sewa and and Poshan Maah in the village. Volunteers also appeal to the shopkeeper to use jute and cloth bag instead of Polythene and plastic bags. They also made aware to the shopkeepers and villagers about dangers of use of plastic and polythene. The volunteer appeal the customers to use handmade bags of old cloths and carry certain bags when they go for shopping in the market. The initiative was taken under the guidance of worthy Principal, GDC Kathua, Prof. Assa Ram Sharma, and the whole activity was conducted under the supervision of Programme Officers: Prof. Manmohan Singh and Prof. Ritu Raj Sharma.
