New India Assurance launches drive to insure uninsured vehicles

Jammu, Sept 18: To support the ongoing drive launched by the State Traffic law enforcing authorities in light of recently amended Motor Vehicle Act, Jammu Divisional Office of leading Public Sector Undertaking, the New India Assurance Company Limited, today launched special drive for extending insurance cover to all type of vehicles which are plying on the roads but are not insured.
Dr Daleep Pandita, Senior Divisional Manager stated that it is at the initiative of Company's Deputy General Manager, Raj Kumari from Regional Office, Chandigarh, who directed all the offices across Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, U T Chandigarh and Jammu & Kashmir, to create massive public awareness for getting their uninsured vehicles insured at their offices through hassle free procedures. On spot, the officials of the company shall also explain its customers the risks of plying uninsured vehicles, benefits of insuring vehicles and financial compensations in cases of Third Party losses due to vehicle accidents.
He said that it has remained the moto of company to stand up at the time of such social causes, specially for the benefit of rural masses of the state, where penetration of insurance is comparatively less due to lack of its awareness.
Under Corporate Social Responsibility also, the company shall be organizing seminars and workshops at various educational institutions, to create large scale awareness among the youth in particular, of getting their vehicles insured for the benefit of society and the nation.
