| BJP alleges govt distributing jobs to Congress loyalists through fast track | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 6 The state BJP leadership has made up its mind to knock at the doors of the chief election commisison to lodge a complaint against the state government whom they charged were appointing Congress loyalists through fast track process with a view to make gains in the forthcoming assembly elections. Addressing a joint press conference after a long time, state BJP Chief Ashok Khajuria flanked by Prof Chaman Lal Gupta and DrNirmal Singh told media men we will knock at the doors of the Election Commission of India to intervene in the matter and direct the government to stop this exercise. Khajuria said, "We have enough evidence to prove that the state government has appointed and continues to appoint Congress loyalists in different departments of the government and also giving key positions to Congress oriented officials in bureaucratic set up, the Pradesh BJP President Ashok Khajuria told reporters here. Pointing to government’s move to induct former Chief Secretary B.R. Kundal into state cabinet, Khajuria said that this is a glaring example that Kundal was serving the cause of Congress party throughout his tenure up to chief secretary level, thereby signalling that bureaucrats can get lucrative placements if they serve interest of the Congress in J&K. These exercise by the state government headed by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad are being done to utilize their services in forthcoming assembly elections scheduled to be held by October this year, Khajuria alleged. He said the party had decided to bring these facts to notice of election commission of India and seek a direction from it to the government to stop such exercises which will vitiate the impartiality of forthcoming assembly elections in most sensitive state of Jammu and Kashmir. Referring to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board’s decision to introduce a system of paid darshan at the cave shrine, Khajuria said that it has hurt the sentiment of crores of Hindus within and outside the country. He demanded its withdrawal immediately. The former Union Minister of State for Defence Chaman Lal Gupta, who was also present in the press conference, pointed out the confuse and befuddle approach of the Congress-led UPA government with regard to the Kashmiri Pandit. On the one hand the Congress has announced the grant of Rs. 7.50 lakhs per family for rehabilation in the valley and on the other hand is constructing a township for them at Jagti in Nagrota near Jammu thus giving contradictory signals to the entire displaced community. Gupta said that possibility of displaced people to return to their homes and hearths in valley is possible only when situation conducive there. Member National Executive of BJP Nirmal Singh demanded Central University status for Jammu University and opening of more campuses in different districts of Jammu province. He also urged the authorities to speed up the process of raising the status of Govt. Medical College Hospital at Jammu to the level of AIIMS as promised earlier. |
