| Cong for consensus between mainstream parties, Hurriyat: Vakil | | ‘This will ensure respectable settlement of all issues’ | | Srinagar, August 31 – Asserting that no single party would succeed in bringing out the J&K State from prevailing situation, Member Legislative Council (MLC) and JKPCC Vice President, Mr. Abdul Gani Vakil has said that Congress believes that restoration of permanent peace in the state could become possible only through consensus between Hurriyat and main stream parties in finding out the settlement of all issues. Addressing a large public gathering at Pampore Pulwama here today, Mr. Vakil said that “when mainstream parties and Hurriyat will share the table setting aside all other differences to present their view points for addressing this long pending issue some solution will get evolved”. He said “it is only through consensus building that we could agree on a respectable solution of the problem without disturbing our unity with rest of the country”. He said J&K is the symbol of secular character of India. Vakil appealed Hurriyat and other separatists groups to come forward and participated into the 3rd Round Table conference to present their view point. He said “we should have to strive for bringing the smiles on the violence ridden faces of people of J&K”. He said that “people of state would never forgive Hurriayat if it would continue to hesitate to share the table with mainstream parties”. Lauding the role of central government, particularly the sincere efforts of UPA chairperson, Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, Mr. Vakil said it is due to the liberal funding of congress led government in the center that J&K is marching on the path of development and prosperity. He said the construction of big road projects, launching of new water supply schemes, besides revival of power sector by way of establishing fifty (50) new mini hydro-electric projects in the state are the fruits of center’s liberal funding. He said in the wake of f large number of Hydro projects taken in hand the state would soon get rid from power crises.
