| Charak reviews progress of PMGSY works | | | Srinagar, August 31 –The State government would approach center for enhancing financial assistance under World Bank Programme for road connectivity to speed up the projects under execution in the state under PMGSY. The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Minister for R & B Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak. The meeting held threadbear discussion on the pace of work of various ongoing road projects under Prime Minister Reconstruction Programme and Bharat Nirman. Mr. Charak said that in the Ist phase the two districts of Kathua and Budgam be taken up for full funding by the world bank for completing the projects under PMGSY scheme. Mr. Charak stressed for completing the ongoing works within stipulated time and directed the Engeeners to redouble their efforts in completion of the projects. The Minister took serious note on unauthorized parking of vehicles on the roads especially in Regal chowk and other busy areas and asked the commissioner R&B Mr. Atal Dulloo to take up the matter with the concerned agencies including Srinagar Development Authority and traffic police.
