| LIC employees hold rally against price hike | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 6 Employees of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) staged a protest demonstration during lunch hours against the rise in prices of cooking gas, petrol and diesel in front of the Branch Offices and Divisional Office all over the J&K state under the Banner of Northern Zone Insurance Employees Association affiliated to All India Insurance Employees Association. Members raised slogans against the UPA Government for their failure to keep check on the price rise of essential commodities in the country. While addressing the protestors Pawn Gupta Divisional Secretary of the association said that this unprecedented hike in prices of cooking gas has badly hit the kitchen of the common man and the hike in petrol and diesel will further increase the transportation cost of the essential commodities which will increase more prices of commodities. Romesh, Joint Secretary said that the inflation has badly hit the common man and the basic essentials are far from the purchasing capacity of a common man. He demanded that the decision to raise the prices of fuel and cooking gas be withdrawn.
