| Anganwari workers to sit on hunger strike on 12th June | | | Early Times Reporter

Working committee of Anganwari workers has decided to go on hunger strike on 12th June 2008 and sit before the Divisional Commissioner Office, Jammu. As per a release the executive body deplored that the state govt. has not taken any decision to increase the salary of poor and low paid female workers who are serving in the Rural Areas and doing noble job for National Building. It is a matter of serious concern that an elected Govt. by democrated way has not taken decision so far. The workers are being paid only Rs. 1300/- to AWW and Rs. 600/- to helpers which is very low salary.
The association has also demanded salary payment for the month of March, April, May 2008, pending rent payment for the last one year, fuel charges Rs. 300/- p.m. to helper to constitute committees to solve grievances/problems of workers payment of teaching and traveling allowance be paid. |
