| Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas celeberation concludes | | | Srinagar, August 31 – The week long renewable energy day activities observed as Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas concluded at Sheikul Alam Hall here today. During the week long celebrations rallies , painting, quiz and debate competition were organized in district Budgam by the District Administration in collaboration with Department of Science and Technology is create awareness about the use of renewable energy source.
The District Development Commissioner, Budgam Mr. Ravi Thusoo who was the chief guest on the occasion said that energy serves as a basic input for development and needs to be efficiently utilized so that the benefits of hard earned development preserved for posterity. He called upon the students to crate awareness among the public about the use of renewable energy sources.
On this occasion, Dr. Rebab resource person for NIT Srinagar threw light on the specific renewable energy application for Kashmir valley.
Later, prizes were distributed among the participants who secured first, second and third positions in the painting and essay competitions besides debate during the week long celebrations.
Additional District Development Commissioner, district officers and large number of students were present on this occasion.
