JU celebrates golden jubilee celebrations of NSS

Jammu, Sept 25: To celebrate golden jubilee of NSS, a function was organized by the chairperson, campus NSS Units, University of Jammu and the Office of the Programme Coordinator, University of Jammu.
Prof Manoj Dhar,Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, the Chief Guest on the occasion congratulated all present on the occasion for the Golden Jubilee of the NSS and the University of Jammu. He lauded the work done by NSS, but also urged the volunteers to introspect about their roles and responsibilities.
He asked them to understand issues facing the University and the society and be the change agents through constant and concerted efforts.
He extended all support to the NSS in their activities and suggested that a calendar of activities be prepared for the whole year. He also suggested on initiating incentives for commendable volunteer work and stressed on the need of promoting volunteerism through campaigns.
Earlier, Vice Chancellor was welcomed with NSS Clapping by the volunteers followed by traditional Lighting of the Lamp and an invocation chant by the volunteers.
Speaking on the Prof. Jasbir Singh, DSW, urged the volunteers to mentor the students into joining NSS in the Campus. He stressed on the need for selfless service of the Nation. Dr. Anju Thappa, Program Officer presented the vote of thanks.
