Media persons of the whole Doda district including Bhaderwah today staged protest demonstration in front of the ASP office Bhaderwah under the banner of working journalists association ,Bhaderwah.Media persons shouting the slogans of police authorities said that they are being harassed without any reason.They said that media is the fourth pillar of democracy and it is duty of media to point out the laxities of the authorities but those police officials who are bent upon corruption in order to take revenge has registered baseless FIRs against media men without any reason.They warned authorities to take appropriate action against erring police officials otherwise nation wise protest will be initiated .They also demanded to withdraw baseless FIRs registered against them.They were pacified only when ASP Bhaderwah TR Katoch assured that matter will be looked upon. |
