| District Information Centre Anantnag organizes sufiyana programme on Lassa Khan Day | | |
Srinagar, August 31– To commemorate the anniversary of Sufi poet Lassa Khan Fida a sufiyana programme was organized by the District Information Centre, Anantnag.
The artists of cultural wing of the Centre performed a sufiyana programme at the mazar of late Lassa Khan Fida at Achhabal Adda Anantnag. The programme was witnessed by a large number of people who appreciated the efforts of the Information Department for rejuvenating the sufiyana culture in the state and celebrating the anniversaries of sufi saints and poets.
Lassa Khan Day is observed every year on 30th of August followed by ‘Mehfil Sama’ during the intervening night of 30th and 31st August. Lassa Khan Fida has written many nataas and is also credited for translating Gul Bakawali into Kashmiri.
