| House Committee deliberates on appointments | | |
Srinagar, August 31 – The House Committee constituted to look into the appointments under various categories made from 1996 onwards, held its meeting here today and discussed issues related to the matter.
Due to induction of Mr Prem Sagar Aziz (Chairman) in the ministry the senior member of the Committee Mr. Sharief-ud-Din Sharik chaired the meeting.
In response to the Assembly Secretariat’s communication, some departments furnished the information, but some departments have not provided the requisite details desired by the Committee. The available details would be examined by the Committee thoroughly in its future meetings.
Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia who is also member of the Committee resented the decision of the government relating to the enhancement of wages of such appointees whose case is under examination of the Committee constituted by the House. He alleged that since the matter is subjudice and government should have restrained till the findings of the Committee come.
The meeting was attended by legislators Mr. Ashwani Sharma, Smt. Shanti Devi, Mr. G. M. Jan, Commissioner/Secretary Forests Mr. Najam-u-Saqib, MD State Forest Corporation Mr. Aijaz Ahmad, Additional Secretary Assembly Mr. Mohammad Ramzan and officers of Home and Education Departments
