‘Budha messenger of humanity’: Rana

Lord Budha was a symbol of non-violence, peace and humanity, said National Conference MLC Devender Singh Rana, while addressing a gathering here today to celebrate the 2531th birth anniversary of Lord Gautam Budha organized by the J&K Batwal Association.
Rana who was representing Dr. Farooq Abdullah said lesson of Lord Budha must be studied and imbibed by every individual because his message reveals the truth of life, the truth of suffering and guides people to stay away from the thirst of physical body of worldly possession.
Rana said it is important to be a good human being with right view, right thought, right teaching, right behavior, right livelihood, right effort, right concentration and no passion for any desire because he said that if the passion for desire is killed and right approach to the life is adopted the sufferings will end.
He said those in politics should also take a lesson from the teachings of Lord Budha and serve the humanity with missionary zeal without any personal vested interest. He urged the politicians to work for unity among people and desist from dividing the people on regional, caste or ethnic basic for their personal political ends.
Rana also promised the gathering of Batwal Biradri that he will take up their issues with Dr. Farooq Abdullah who was to be the Chief Guest of the function and assured them on behalf of Dr. Abdullah that their genuine demands will be taken up in the right foras under the guidance of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah.
The gathering was also addressed by Ramesh Moton, National Conference leader who highlighted the problems being faced by the Batwal Biradri in J&K State.
Satpal Lakhotra, ex-MLA, while addressing the gathering promised to work for the down trodden and those who are suffering in the society.
Among others who addressed the gathering included Dr. Kamal Arora, Rachpal Basha, President Budh Mandir Committee, Devender Kumar, Vicky Singh, Anant Ram, Capt Hari Chand, Prof Prem Chand, Trilok Raj Motan, Narayan Dutt Sharma, Th. Sangram Singh Charak, Satnam Singh, Dr. Tirath and others.
Devender Singh Rana later also visited the shrine of Data Ran Dev in Birpur and paid his obeisance to Data Ran Dev who is the spiritual Guru of the Charak Biradri and the Sadhotra Brahmin Biradri. He was accompanied by Master Noor Hussain, Sr. NC Leader, Janak Raj Sadhotra, Dr. Kamal Arora, Narayan Dutt Sharma, Daljeet Singh Charak, President Charak Biradri and Brahm Dutt Sharma.
