| 6000 Anganwari Centres under phase III | | Vakil rules out role of regional parties in opening of cross LOC links | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | June 8 Social Welfare Minister and senior Vice President, JKPCC Abdul Gani Vakil has appealed the people to vote to power that political party which is pursuing the agenda of ‘Khushal’ Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Congress as a national party is working for unity and integrated development of the country as well as Jammu and Kashmir which has earned it popularity among the masses.. Addressing a huge public rally at Heaven Baramulla today, Vakil said that some local parties were claiming credit for restoration of cross LOC links which is far from the reality. He said that it was the prerogative of the Central leadership, adding that the Congress-led UPA Government deserves all appreciation for this historic initiative. Ruling out role of regional parties in opening of cross LOC links, he said that it was because of present central leadership that Indo-Pak relations got fostered and CBMs boosted. Maintaining that those getting frustrated due to rising popularity of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad are voicing rumors for his calling him back to the centre and said that there was no such move. He said that such rumors were unfounded and baseless. He said that Azad was vigorously working on the agenda of peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir and would not leave the agenda halfway. He said that under Azad’s leadership the state was touching the targets one after another at developmental front. He made a mention of implementation of Roshni scheme, Financial Commission, eradication of corruption, establishment of new administrative units, degree colleges and said that these are aimed at making Jammu and Kashmir a model state. He sought people’s cooperation for transforming the pro-people policies of Azad-led government into action. Vakil said that by the end of this month, recruitment of 13,500 Anganwari Workers and Helpers would be completed and after that 6000 additional Anganwari Centres would be set up in the hitherto uncovered areas under phase III assuring employment for 12000 females. Addressing the rally, Minister of State for Power Babu Singh said that to enhance the power generation in the state, various mega, macro and micro hydel projects were under execution whose completion would help to boost the industrial sector in the state. He said that this may help to contain the growing problem of unemployment. Vice President, JKPCC and ex-MLA Bashir Ahmed Magray said that during the last three years, the State has witnessed tremendous progress at all fronts under the leadership of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad. |
