Attachment of Range Officer's property ordered

Srinagar, August 31: The State Vigilance Organisation here on Thursday took into its custody the property of a former range officer. It has been learnt that former Range Officer Hakeem Mukhtar Ahmed S/O Hakeem Ali Mohd R/O Bimloora Ganderbal was among six officers on whose residences vigilance conducted simultaneous raids at Srinagar and Jammu on December 6 last year.
Having been already placed under suspension on corruption charges, the attached property of Hakeem Mukhtar Ahmed includes a land plot measuring 90x60 ft. at Alfarooq colony Rawalpora Budgam. Interestingly Hakeem Mukhtar Ahmed had purchased 4 kanalas of land in the names of his three family members and the same was divided into three plots. Following directives of vigilance, land plot owned by Hakeem Mukhtar Ahmed was take into custody by State Vigilance Organisation.
The Sources in State Vigilance Organisation claim that the money was drawn from Hakeem Mukhtar's JK Bank Rawalpora and Punjab National Bank Batwara account nos for purchasing the said land area of four kanalas.
