| Crime gang busted, murder averted | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 8 With the arrest of three youth brandishing guns and other assault weapons on full day lights, it appears that crime is cropping up in the city in an organized manner. But for timely information and swift action by Jammu Police, the criminals would have done a rival to death. The Jammu Police today claimed to have averted a major tragedy by arresting three criminals along with arms and ammunition at the General Bus Stand. The alleged criminal trio was looking for an opportune time or may be waiting for other accomplices to attack a rival in the old city. However, their arrest while saved a life it also busted a criminal gang. A Police spokesman said that a Police Party of PS Bus Stand acting swiftly, after getting information regarding the movement of three hardcore criminals in their jurisdiction. During search troops intercepted these criminals who tried to fled away but police chased and apprehended them. After a brief chase the Police were able to catch hold of them. They have been identified as Mayur Rana alias Jyoti Rana, a resident of Panjtirthi, Wasim Raja, a resident of Narwal Pain Satwari and Yogeshwar Sharma alias Laddi, a resident of Purani Mandi Jammu. One Pistol with three live cartridges and one double barrel Gun with two cartridges and sharp –edged weapons were recovered from their possession. During interrogation they disclosed that they were going to attach one of their rival namely Shiva of Purani Mandi. Case FIR No. 46/08 U/S 4/25 Arms Act, 34 RPC stands registered at PS Bus Stand. Their interrogation is being carried out to know more about their involvement in other criminal cases. |
