The fast track recruitment boards, established in various district headquarters in the state, have started sending the lists of candidates, short listed by them for interview, to the Subordinate Services Selection Board(SSSB).
According to a member of the Board "we have begun examining the lists received from the fast track recruitment boards and every attempt was being made to begin the interview process from the middle of the current month. "He said that since the list of candidates was very big "we plan to complete the selection process for vacant posts of teachers. "This was being done so that when the educational institutions reopen after the summer vacation all the vacant posts are filled up.
In reply to a question he said that since Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, has added 15 more members to the selection Board, raising the number to 21, the selection process was expected to be completed in a record time. In fact Azad, is said to have directed both the SSSB and the Public Service Commission to expedite the interview process so that the list of selected candidates for various posts was ready much before the poll schedule was announced. Accordingly the Public Services Commission too has drawn a programme for completing the written test and the viva voice of the applicants in a record time.
The Government has plans of going in for appointing of educated youth on contractual basis in case both the PSC and the Board were not able to complete the process of selecting candidates for all the vacant posts. There are over 22,000 posts of teachers, lecturers, doctors, engineers and other posts in non gazetted cadre vacant in the state.
