Stresses on close monitoring of flagship schemes

Jammu, Oct 5: Secretary Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Sheetal Nanda today exhorted upon the officers to closely monitor flagship schemes to facilitate percolation of benefits to the deserving people. Chairing a meeting here to review performance of the department in Jammu Division districts, she asked the officers to meet the expectations of public and remain available to them for redressing their grievances, ensuring maximum benefits to the people by involving them through 'Gram Sabhas'. The meeting was attended by Director RDD, Jammu, Sudershan Sharma, Director Panchayati Raj, Nazir Sheikh, Joint Director Planning, ADDCs, ACDs, DPOs, Executive Engineers of the districts of Jammu division and other officers of the Department.
The Secretary reviewed block and Panchayat wise performance and took stock of physical and financial achievements under various schemes. She laid optimum thrust on sanitation, convergence of MGNREGA, and other schemes of the Department. The Secretary stressed on involving the people in every sphere of development process for their welfare and prosperity. She said that the Department needs to come on the forefront by working in a transparent manner. She further said that the J&K has achieved distinction in the country by performing commendably in the implementation of MGNREGA adding that it has become possible by the contributed efforts of the people and the department.
The Secretary also informed that there is no dearth of funds under convergence, 14FC, MGNREGA and SBM for development activities and government is making full efforts to optimally utilize these resources for maximum output.
Sheetal Nanda stressed on for early clearance of all the liabilities and also laid stress on the involvement of all stakeholders in the planning process.
The Secretary also exhorted upon the concerned officers for proper verification of beneficiaries under PMAY and called for effective implementation of various schemes.
