| Hari Om charges JKNPP of toeing PDP, Pakistan agenda on Kashmir | | ‘Urges it to adopt clear cut line on Kashmir’ | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 10 Lambasting Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) for putting forth a dubious demand to the so-called Kashmir problem, the BJP State Vice-President and spokesperson Prof. Hari Om today asserted that what the party has demanded through a resolution is no different from what the PDP and Pakistan have been consistently working for. He said one could understand the Panthers Party’s desire for empowerment of the neglected regions and the neglected communities in the state but one fails to understand its motive behind re-organization of the state-virtually on the lines being suggested by Pakistan and the likes of Farooq Kathwari, a US-based Kashmiri separatist. Commenting on the Panthers Party’s stand on Article 370, Prof. Hari Om in a statement has said it would have been better had it demanded its abrogation as it is the root cause of all problems afflicting the nation in the state in general and the people of Jammu, Ladakh and displaced Kashmiri Hindus in particular. He further questioned its stand on Article 370, saying it is this Article which has not only created a wall of hatred between Kashmir and the rest of the country and given absolute legislative and financial powers to the Kashmiri leadership, but also deprived the people of the state of all those civil and democratic rights which are available to the rest of the countrymen under the Indian Constitution. Prof. Hari Om asked the Panthers Party leadership not to play with dangerous tools and urged it to adopt a clear cut line on Jammu and Kashmir. He said the people of Jammu and Ladakh in particular not only want their empowerment but also want a political system that not only neutralizes those indulging in politics based on sectarian and narrow communal considerations but also integrates Jammu and Kashmir fully with the rest of the country. He expressed the hope that the Panthers Party leadership would stop playing pro-separatist and anti-people politics and strengthen the hands of those who are really committed to the cause of the people and Indian nation. |
