Three minors drown here in a canal leading to Hydro electric plant Chenani today. Trio was playing in the field near by canal. Their father Arjun Kumar was engrossed in farming when the children identified as Anu Devi of 8 years, Preeti Devi of 6 years and Sunil Sharma of 3 years slipped from the field to canal side where Sunil Sharma while playing slipped into the canal, in order to make bid to rescue him his two sisters jumped into the canal and trio was washed away. Arjun Kumar when did not find his children in the field started searching them and finally lodged a complaint in Udhampur police station. A police party led by SHO Jagdev Singh Salathia approached the Hydro electric department to stop the water of canal and found the bodies of deceased in the reservoir of Hydro electric plant. The body was taken to district hospital where after postmortem they were handed over to their parents for last rites. |
