Toll tax must be abolished: JCS

Jammu, Oct 14: Jammu Civil Society (JCS) under the chairmanship of Pardeep Gandotra today organized a very useful panel discussion on issues related to transition to union territory with BJP MP Shamsher Singh Manhas & former MLAs Sat Sharma (C.A), Kavinder Gupta, Sham lal Sharma, Kuldeep Khooda IPS and other dignitaries at Gandhi Nagar Jammu. Shamsher Singh Manhas MP was the chief guest.
CA Pardeep Gandotra who was the host of the occasion welcomed all the dignitaries and raised many important economic & social issues regarding transition to union territory including the abolition of Toll Tax & revival of J&K Bank.
After detailed discussions & inputs from various stake holders, it was unanimously resolved to forward following suggestions on behalf of Jammu Civil Society Gandhi Nagar to the Government of India including Abolition of Toll tax as it cannot co-exist with GST legally, Government should explore various options to revive J&K bank, Advisories issued by various countries regarding visit by their national's to J&K should be got withdrawn, Uninterrupted internet connectivity should be ensured so that It / BPO sector can be brought to J&K, Boost to industrial sector by setting up of at least one mega manufacturing unit like metro / rail coach factory or setting up of defense production units through private participation under make in India Initiative of Honorable Prime Minister of India, Fiscal incentives in the shape of income tax relief & GST exemption for 10 years should cover all sectors including service & trade sector in J&K UT, Order on reduction of power tariff for Hotel Industry should be restored, Registration charges for Vehicles should be reduced so as to match with adjoining states like Himachal & Punjab, Government should promote quality education so that the UT becomes major education hub.
