| JU recognized as role model for IQACs in country | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 11 Jammu University has been widely recognized as a role model for all other IQACs in the country as a result of which the NAAC has sought the assistance of JU's CFQA to upgrade the quality Assurance Mechanism in other Universities of the country. The initiatives taken by the Centre for Quality Assurance (CFQA) University of Jammu to enhance the quality of education in university and its affiliated colleges with special emphasis on accreditation by multiple bodies used by ICT in teaching, learning and in administration and strengthening the internal quality assurance mechanism has been widely recognized by NAAC as a role model for all other IQACs in the country. The achievement of the Centre have resulted in the Director Centre for Quality Assurance, Dr Meenakshi Kilam being offered consultancies by a number of Universities for establishing and upgrading the Quality Assurance Mechanisms. These include two Central Universities, Banaras Hindu University, Banaras and Baba Amberdkar University Lucknow. It is pertinent to mention here that Dr Meenakshi Kilam has recently attended a workshop on recent NAAC accreditation methodology where special emphasis was on strengthening the departments of Education and Physical Education. She was also a member of the NAAC reaccreditations team for the University of Kalyani. The Emphasis placed by UGC-NAAC on internal quality assurance and the achievements made in this regard has led to the inclusion of Director CFQA in the visiting team to review the progress of UGC 10th plan and the framing of guide lines and identifying thrust area for 11th plan. |
