KPS OFFICIERS PIN HOPES ON AZAD
7/8/2006 9:06:43 PM
Srinagar, July 08, : After failing to impress upon senior officials in the police department to issue adjustment orders in response to their promotions, orders of which were issued on August 16 2005, 57 disgruntled KPS officers of 1999 batch has now dashed off an open letter to the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad pleading for justice.
The police officers have stated that being members of the disciplined force and having no access to the office of the chief minister, we can only request you to listen to us through the medium of this letter and order our adjustments so that we can come out of doom.
Highlighting their plight the officers have also stated that,” the agony gets aggravated when we have to discharge our duties on lower positions which is humiliating in the belt forces”.
The officers further stated in their open letter to the chief minister that barring two officers till date our adjustment orders have not been issued for no fault of ours.

The letter further states,’ promotion is a source of great motivation in any service more so in police department in which such service adjustments have a direct bearing on the motivational levels which is directly proportional to the morale of the force especially to fight militancy in the state”.
Expressing deep concern over the declining standards of service, the officers have stated that the system gets rotten by the day leading to adhocism which leads to inefficiency, corruption and further deterioration.
In the end the police officers stated that our future shall be shaped by the treatment we get out of the system which has a bearing on the governance.
