SPF to organize hockey tournament

Jammu, Oct 18: Sikh Progressive Front has decided to organize "Sarbat Da Bhalaa", a national level hockey tournament from 20th to 26th October Dedicated to 550 Birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
President of Front Balvinder Singh along with other members of organising Committee S. Iqbal Singh, former National Player, S. Manjit Singh Organising Secretary , S. Sharanjit Singh, S. Rajinder Singh Wazir S. Jasbir Singh & S. Amrik Singh said that as 550th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak dev Ji is celebrated all over the country and across the globe in a befitting manner.
The National Level Hockey tournament is to be played at K.K Hakku Stadium from 20th to 26th October, to spread Guru Nanak Dev Ji's teachings of Love, peace, equality and universal brotherhood in a unique way by organizing a mega sports event.
Singh while sharing detail of the participating teams, said that out of total 16 participating teams 9 teams from out the state are Punjab Police, EME Jalandhar, Surjit Hockey Academy, Baba Uttam Singh Hockey Academy Khadur Sahib, Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd Patiala, S G P C Hockey Academy Amritsar, Punjab and Sindh Bank Hockey Academy, New Gurdaspur Hockey Club and Pathankot XI.
Singh further that Some reputed teams of Jammu like J&K Police, BSF Jammu, Peaks XI Kmr, Guru Nanak Club, Khalsa Club, Hiranagar Club & Jammu Legend are also participating in the said tournament.
Singh stated that Inspector General of Police Jammu Mukesh Singh , IPS will be the Chief Guest and SSP Jammu S. Tejinder Singh will be the Guest of Honour in the inaugural Match to be played between J&K Police and Jammu Legends on 20th October at 2.30 PM.
SPF stated that Jb Farooq Khan Advisor to Governor J&K has kindly consented to be the Chief guest on the final day of the Tournament on 26th October at 3.00 PM.
