Expedite pending dev works of Srinagar district: Div Com to Officers

SRINAGAR, Oct 18: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today directed concerned district officers to complete pending developmental works of Srinagar district on double shift basis.
The Divisional Commissioner made these directions while chairing the district level meeting here to review developmental scenario of Srinagar district. He also directed the concerned to procure labour force from outside and camp them on construction sites with proper boarding and security to achieve the desired results.
The Deputy Commissioner Srinagar was asked to conduct surprise checks of government offices to ensure cent percent attendance of employees.
It was informed that 93 languishing projects of R&B, PHE, I&FC, Industries & Commerce, Agriculture, Higher Education, PDD, Health, Education and other departments are under execution in Srinagar, at an approved cost of Rs 883.64 crores.
The meeting was also informed that 172 works proposed under Back-to-Village Programme in 21 Panchayat Halqas are under execution at an estimated cost of Rs 11.05 crore. Regarding issuance of Economically Weaker Section certificates, it was said that till date, 276 EWS certificates have been issued to beneficiaries The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned to organize camps and issue EWS certificates to eligible beneficiaries on spot after proper verification.
He also asked the PDD to project the demand of buffer electricity transformers to the district administration at an earliest to meet the winter requirements.
During the meeting, the Div Com also reviewed power scenario, essential supplies, functioning of schools, hospitals, working of Ayushman Bharat Scheme, development of new cluster tribal model village, mapping of land bank of state and kahcharai land, construction of new colleges, PMGSY projects, CAPEX budget, special area development programme, AMRUT scheme, social welfare sector, agriculture and horticulture departments.
The Divisional Commissioner exhorted the officials to re-double their efforts to complete all the languishing projects on priority. He said works should be executed according to the set parameters.
The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary, SSP Srinagar, Executive engineers of PHE, R&B, PDD and other concerned officers.
