| JKAACL organizes summer children workshop | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 11 J&K academy of art, culture and languages organized summer children workshop in theatre, dance and painting. The aim of organizing these workshops to develop concepts regarding theatre, dance and painting and also impart and education in above discipline. As per a press release, the summer children’s theatre, dance and painting workshop was inaugurated by Zafar Iqbal Manhas, secretary, J&K academy of art, culture and languages at Abhinav theatre here today. Speaking on the occasion, Manhas divulged the aims and objectives of organizing these workshop. He said that experts and resource persons of sounds experience for the workshop have been engaged to impart training to children’s. He added that the training schedule has been so chalked out by the experts as to meet the requirement and ethos of our society, to enable children from all section of the society to participate in the workshop. These workshops are likely to help in modest way to explore the creativity and to build the personality of participating children. Earlier, Savita Bakshi, additional secretary, J&K cultural academy, Jammu welcomed all the participants children and their parents. In her welcome address she gave the full details of the programme being organized by the academy. She revealed that more than 130 children from the different age groups from different schools of Jammu are participating in the summer children’s workshop which would conclude on 10th of July 2008 as BAL Ustav-2008. She further revealed that on the concluding day, the theatre participants should give their full-length drama performance. Besides those enrolled in participating shall display their art work in children art exhibition and children of dance workshop will also present their dance performance to be held at Abhinav theatre, Jammu. Sudhir Mahajan, senior drama instructor will be assisted by Sanjeev Gupta, Bhupinder Singh, Anil Tikoo and Bishan Dass of the academy. Whereas Rakesh Kona will assist Randhir Kumar, choreographer of the academy who will provide training in dance, Richa Mahajan, Ravinder Pal Singh and Amit Anand have been engaged as instructor in painbting. In the end, Shamima Akhter, special officer for cultural activities (Gr-I) presentede vote of thanks, Sudhir Mahajan conducted the proceedings of the programme, the release added. |
