| JCC wins by 43 runs to enter quarter-finals | | Prof Pran Malhotra Cricket Tourney | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 11 Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) today sailed into the quarterfinals of ongoing in Prof Pran Nath Malhotra Cricket Tournament organized by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at GGM Science College hostel ground, here. In the pre-quarterfinal encounter took place today, JCC defeated Patel Cricket Club (PCC) by a healthy margin of 43 runs, coutesy all-round performance from Mousin Iqbal and match winning spell by Rahil Singh. Earlier, JCC won the toss and elected to bat first. They played full 40 overs to make 173 runs losing all their wickets, which, in reply, PC could not chase and bowled out for 130 runs in 36.1 overs. Guru Pratap was top scorer with 39 runs while Mousin Iqbal played fine innings of 31 runs, followed by Ranjeev who contributed 24 (off 25 balls, 3x4). Narinder took two wickets for PCC while Rajesh and Manjeet shared apiece each. Batting second, PCC lost all their wickets for 130 runs in 36.1 overs. Rakesh played brilliant innings of 43-ball 42 runs including a six and four boundaries while Manjeet added 10 runs. Rahil Singh was most successful bowler with four for 17 in 5.1 overs, followed by Dilawar Singh, who took three wickets. Mousin, who earlier scored 31 runs, clinched two important wickets. Mousin was later adjudged man of the match for his all-round performance. Today’s match was officiated by Rajesh Dhar and V K Tikoo while Raghav Verma was scorer. Ravi Kant Gupta acted as observer. |
