| Emphatic win for KCCC in Pran Malhotra Cricket | | Prof Pran Nath Malhotra Cricket | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 12 Brilliant knocks from Pardeep Bali and Divya Pratap Singh followed by an excellent bowling from Raman Dutta today guided Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) to big 188 runs victory over Samba District XI in the ongoing Prof Pran Nath Malhotra Cricket Tournament organized by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at GGM Science College hostel ground, here. It was virtually a meek surrender by the first timers in any provincial level competition, the Samba XI were no match for the experienced and star studded side of KCCC. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, KCCC set a target of 269 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 40 overs, which, in reply, Samba District XI could not chase the total and bowled out for 80 runs in 20.5 overs. Pardeep Bali ( 75 off 72 balls, 11x4, 1x6) and Divya Pratap Singh (78 off 80 balls, 8x4) were top scorers from KCCC with 75 and 78 runs respectively while Ashok and Anshuman Sharma contributed 18 and 20 runs respectively. From Samba XI, Sunil Singh bagged two wickets while Radhe Sham, Jyoti Sharma and Arun Dev took one wicket each. Batting second, Samba District made a poor start right from the beginning and in the process whole side bowled for 80 runs in 20.5 overs. Except for Ram Prasad, who made 23 (off 25 balls, 1x6, 3x4) runs, no other batsman could touch the double figure mark. It was Raman Dutta who demolished the Samba batting line taking away five wickets for 23 runs in 7.5 overs. Ashok and Manik Gupta shared two wickets each. For his deadly spell, Raman Dutta was declared man for the match. Brij Mohan Sharma and Sadiq Hussain Malik were umpires in today’s match. Raghav Verma was scorer. |
