| Recycled militant arrested in Handwara | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | June 12 Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF today claimed to have arrested a recycled militant of Hizbul Mujahideen from Taharthpora area of Kupwara in North Kashmir. Official sources told News Agency of Kashmir that on specific information regarding presence of militants in the orchids of Sheikh Mohalla, Taharthpora, Vilgam, Police along with CRPF launched a search operation in the area. "Police with the assistance of 125 Bn. CRPF cordoned the area and after following meticulous security drill, operation party succeeded in arresting the recycled militant" sources said adding that the arrested militant was later identified as Gh. Nabi Sheikh, son of Late Mohd Maqbool Sheikh, resident of Taharthpora. One Chinese Pistol, one pistol magazine and four pistol rounds were recovered from the possession of the militant, sources added. The militant was earlier working with outlawed Al- Fatah and was nowadays working with HM. He was also assisting other militant outfits in Ramhal area by guiding them and providing logistics. In this connection, case FIR No. 28/2008 under section 7/25 A. Act has been registered in police station Vilgam. |
