| 1 killed, Army jawan among 36 injured in Mendhar mishap | | | Early Times Reporter Mendhar | June 12 One person was killed and thirty six, four of them critically, sustained injuries when a bus rolled down into a deep gorge near Balnoi area in tehsil Mendhar of district Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir. Sources informed News Agency of Kashmir that a bus JK02D-5491 rolled down into a deep gorge near Balnoi area when it was hit by a speeding bus JK02E-5717 from back side. Sources said that the bus that met with an accident was unloading the passengers near Balnoi when another speeding bus hit it from back side due to which the standing bus rolled down into a deep gorge resulting into the death a passenger and injuries to thirty six persons. Reports said that the bus was on its way to Sagra from Mendhar when it met with an accident at Balnoi. On receiving information about the mishap, police personnel and the local people rushed to the accident site and started rescue operation. The injured were shifted to Sub-District Hospital Mendhar for treatment. Reports informed that one of the injured was pronounced as brought dead by doctors. He has been identified as Mohammad Sahoor Khan son of Mohammad Din, a resident of Gursai. The critically injured have been identified as Sepoy of 4 Dogra Regiment Ganesh Kumar son of Ram Kumar, Abdul Majid son of Mohammad Din, a resident of Ari in Mendhar, Rashida Bi and Qamer Din of Sagra. All of them were shifted to district hospital Poonch for treatment. Police have registered a case at police station Mendhar in this connection. |
