| 120 Kg of poppy straw seized Toll Post Lakhanpur | | |  Early Times Report
Kathua, Oct 28: On intervening night of 27-28 October, 2019 a vehicle bearing registration No. PB-06E-8385 approached for toll tax clearance at export side of Toll Post Lakhanpur. The vehicle was loaded with fresh Fruit of M/s Dar Transport Co. destined to M/s PFC Melhont Punjab as per challan. The vehicle was assessed by Inspector Sajjad Majid, and cleared Sub-Inspector Harmeet Singh which was finally put to physical check. During physical checking the vehicle was found loaded apple alongwith Poppy Straw (Bhukki) 12 Boxes concealed in apple boxes. The consignment was weighed and found about 120 Kgs. The driver of the vehicle namely Rajinder Singh S/o Nachattar Singh R/o Punjab alongwith vehicle was detained and later on handed over the Police Station Lakhanpur for further investigation. The operation was carried out by Excise Inspectors Bilal Ahmed and Ishtiaq Ahmed, Excise Head Guard, Mohd Reyaz and Excise Guard, Manzoor Lone under close supervision of Excise and Taxation Officers Aamir Aiyaz Rather, Sajjad Sofi and Abdul Rehman. The whole operation was closely monitored by Deputy Excise Commissioner, Toll Post Lakhanpur Shri Pardeep Singh Manhas, KAS. |
