| Week long environment celebrations conclude at KU | | | Early Times Reporter Srinagar | June 13 The week- long environment celebrations to promote World Environment Day which was inaugurated by the Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad at University Campus on June 5 concluded today. Unlike the environment events criticized by local media for “ not delivering the objectives ”the KU organized various novel events during the week long celebrations aiming at not only about creating awareness on the fragileness of Kashmir valley environments and the increasing pressure they face from forces such as climate change and ill-considered human activity but also sought active participation from the students, teachers and various sections of the society . This campaign was all about to responding pro-actively to the changes in our environment especially forest cover and the water bodies and was also about working together to come up with new and exciting ways to make our surroundings greener, said Vice Chancellor Kashmir University Prof Riyaz Punjabi while congratulating the faculty of Environment Science Department, NSS volunteers, various non- government organizations who participated in the week long event |
