NC leaders pay tributes to Beig, Shah

Rich tributes were paid to Mirza Mohd Afzal Bieg and Kh.Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah, senior National Conference leaders on their 26th and 4th death anniversary, at a meeting held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, here today under the chairmanship of Provincial President Jammu Province Ajay Sadhotra
The meeting, besides NC workers of Jammu province, was attended by district office bearers and delegates of District Jammu, URBAN, Jammu Rural "A" and Jammu Rural "B".
Paying floral tributes to two stalwarts of the National Conference, Ajay Sadhotra said that these leaders served the people of the State and the organization in various capacities and the services they have rendered for the state in general and for the party in particular shall remain a torch bearer for us.
He said Beig was one of the founder members of National Conference and historical land management decisions made in his capacity as Revenue Minister shall remain in the minds of the people of the state.
Referring to the altruistic services rendered by Shah, during his life time, Sadhotra said that his patience, honesty and administrative capability shall always guide us.
He said the best tributes to these two leaders will be to follow the path shown by them to strengthen the party and its leadership.
Eulogizing the role played by Late Beig in the history of the National Conference, Rattan Lal Gupta, senior Vice President said "Beig, besides being a stalwart of the party, was a prominent legal luminary of the state who with his secular approach and intelligent mind created a niche for himself in the history of the state".
Referring the to the key role played by Shah for strengthening the base of National Conference in Jammu province, Rattan Lal Gupta said "the sincere and determined efforts put in by Shah sahib at that time has strengthen the base of the party in Jammu province". His dedicated services for the party shall always be remembered, he said.
A two minutes silence was observed in the memory of both the leaders.
Among others who paid tributes on the occasion included Mohinder Gupta, Satpal Lakhotra, Chander Mohan Sharma, Bimla Luthra, Th. Kashmira Singh, ex-MLC, Jugal Mahajan, Abdul Gani Tali, Pardeep Bali, Rashida Begum, Ashok Kumar, Shyam Mehra, Vijay Lochan, Sucha Singh, Ayudhya Gupta, Rita Gupta, Shamshad Begum and Lalita Sharma.
