| DM rejects bail of alleged accused involved in gang rape | | | Early Times Reporter

Duty Magistrate (DM) Jammu Parvez Iqbal today rejected the bail application of Aslam s/o Fakkar Din r/o Narwal Bala, who along with two others, are allegedly involved in a gang rape of a lady, mother of three children.
According to police case accused Aslam along with Mohd Yousaf and Liaquat Ali, with common intention, forcibly took prosecutrix, mother of three children, in a room near the shop where she had gone to purchase vegetables on April 29, 2008. All the accused overpowered her and committed rape on the prosecutrix. Police report said that on the report of the husband of the prosecutrix, a case u/s 376/341/34 RPC was registered and during the course of investigation, the statements of witnesses, besides the statement of prosecutrix, were recorded u/s 164-A before a Magistrate. The police report said that co-accused persons were still absconding and investigation of the case was at very crucial juncture and more so the medical and FSL report were still awaited.
The Court, after hearing CPO MA Manhas assisted by Adv BL Chatha and Adv Shabil Mirza appearing for the accused, who is behind the bars since May 3 last, and going through the CD file rejected the bail application. JNF |
