Police recovers poppy straw from a vehicle at Batote
JAMMU AUG-31- Police today arrested truck driver and seized the truck carrying a large quantity of poppy straw.
A Police spokesman said that Truck NO 4687/JK02 on its way from Srinagar to Jammu was intercepted at Tingla Batote and during the checking over 11 kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from the truck.
The truck driver Shabir Ahmed son of Shah Mohammed Mir of Nowshera Challian tehsil Uri and Tariq Ahmed son of Mohammed Ramzan resident of Wagoora were taken into custody by the police and the vehicle seized.
The police have registered a case u/s 8/12 NDPS Act.
