Organized jointly by Dhansar Dangal Committee and J&K Indian Wrestling Association, the 10th annual Karua Kesari vishal dangal shall take place at village Karua, 12 kilometers from holy town of Katra on June 16 afternoon.
To take a final decision about the event and also to finalise other arrangements, a meeting took place at Katra under the chairmanship of president Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma. Among those present in the meeting were Ram Parkash (president Dhansar Dangal Committee), Subash Chander, Ram Dass, Trilok Chand, Rattan Lal, Shyam Lal, Shakti Kumar, Baldev Raj, Nasib Singh, Ved Parkash, Khem Raj and Mangat Ram.
It was later informed by Shiv Kumar Sharma that around 50 wrestlers from different states, including locals, have confirmed their participation to the organizing committee.
A technical committee has also been formed for smooth conduct of the event. The committee is comprised of Capt. Lehar Singh (Retd), Master Ram Kishan, Mohd Fareed, Ram Parkash, Ram Dass and Trilok Chand.
It was also decided in the meeting to approach the Sports Minister, Haji Nissar Ali and Secretary, J&K State Sports Council, Ravinder Gupta with a request to pay more attention towards promotion of the indigenous game of wrestling in the state. |
