| Geelani communalizing atmosphere in the state: Chadha | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 13 Senior PDP R K Chada, has criticized, Tehrek-e-huriyyat leader Sayeed Ali Shah Geelani for communalizing the atmosphere in the state, known for its secular trasditions, by playing Islamiccard and raising the boggy of conspiracies to change the demography of Muslim majority state into Hindu majority state. In a press statement, issued here today Chadha has said that after getting cold shouldered treatment from Pakistan and in the Past was advocating Kashmir’s merger with Pakistan, has now started taking refuge in raising wolf cry for Muslims of Kashmir being prosecuted. Appealing the Kashmiris at large not to be misled by the venomous propaganda let loose by Geelani in the name of Islam, with the communal divide in J&K, Chadha has asked that coming of a large number of pilgrims for Amarnath Yatra during the two months and construction of some huts and lavatories for their temporary halt in the course of their journey to the cave shrine and back, can change the demographic character of Kashmir. The wolf cry of a conspiracy for their permanent settlement of a large number of people from other parts of the India in Baltal and Pahalgam areas is totally unfounded and baseless. Already a very large number of people from various parts of the country visit of five to eight lakh pilgrims for Amarnath Yatra can change the demography of Kashmir. While appreciating the stand taken by forest minister Qazi nMohhamed Afzal, who has ruled out of any threat to the environment and ecology of the area with a very number of pilgrims undertaking Amarnath Yatra, he said, in fact Geelani and his supporters are actually anti-Kashmiris, since they do not want Kashmiris to prosper and economically benefit with large number of tourists and pilgrims coming to the valley. Their concern for the welfare of Kashmiris is a hoax indeed. Every time when tourist and even pilgrimage tourism starts picking up, these enemies of peace and people’s welfare raise one boggy or the other, to scare away the tourists and create problems for the administration to pay hospitality to the visitors in Kashmir. Refuting the allegations by the certain quarters that Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and PDP are opposed to Amarnath Yatra, R C Chadha disclosed that 8000 kanals of forest land has been transferred by the government to SASB, with due to approval of the forest minister Qazi Mohammad Afzal, who has full support in the matter from PDP patron Mufti Mohammed Sayeed. It is on account that many former Hurriyat leaders are joining PDP. |
