| Yatri Niwas to be ready before June 15 | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 13 Divisional Commissioner Jammu Mr. Sudhanshu Pandey today convened a high level officers meeting to review the arrangements made for the comfortable stay of Amarnath yatries at the newly constructed Yatri Niwas at Bhagwati Nagar and other places in Jammu city. Among others DIG Jammu Mr. Farooq Khan, District Development Commissioner Jammu Mr. Hirdesh Kumar Singh, Chief Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control, Chief Engineer PWD, Director Fire and Emergency, Deputy Commissioner, Commercial Tax, Chief Medical Officer Jammu, General Manager JKTDC, General Manager, Joint Director Tourism, Principal GGM Science College, officers from CRP, CRPF, BSF, Executive Engineer of PWD, PHE, PDD and officers of various departments attended the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, the Divisional Commissioner directed the PWD authorities to complete the construction work of Yatri Niwas before 15th June. He asked them to remove the outgrowth of bushes along side the road of Bakshi Nagar and Bhagwati Nagar. He also directed the PDD authority to arrange a generator set at the Yatri Niwas so that there is no power cut for next three days as the construction work is going on war footing. Mr. Pandey directed JMC authorities to construct sufficient number of temporary toilets and deploy Safai karamcharies to clean and sanitize the area. He asked the Floriculture department to plant saplings along the canal. He asked the PHE authority to arrange sufficient number of tankers of drinking water and install taps at the langer sites so that NGOs may not face any shortage of water during the yatra period. Earlier, Mr. Pandey along with MLA Gandhi Nagar Mr. Raman Bhalla inspected the ongoing construction work of Yatri Niwas which is being constructed after a gap of 20 years at Bhagwati Nagar. He said that Yatri Niwas would be ready to welcome Amarnath yatries by June 15 before the commencement of Amarnath yatra. He informed that the Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad would inaugurate the Yatri Niwas on June 16. |
