| State govt employees demand removal of SHO Pahalgam | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 17 Large number of state government employees assigned Amarnath yatra duty on Tuesday threatened to join the ongoing stir by employees in Pahalgam demanding action against the station house officer of Pahalgam for allegedly manhandling one of their colleagues at Aru. These government employees were threatening to intensify their stir in the absence of strict action against the police officer. A majority of officers posted on Amarnath yatra duty on Tuesday announced that if the police officer was not removed from t he post of SHO Pahalgam they too would join the strike..It may be mentioned that the employees went on strike after one of the employees of Pahalgam development authority was allegedly roughed up by the police officer on receiving complaints against the state government employee. The situation went out of hand when the police officer in uniform treated the state government employee in front of the family members of one his senior colleagues shabbily.Even the efforts made by the senior funcationaries of the Pahalgam development authority failed to pacify the police officer. Instead of sorting the mess the police officer indulged in mud slinging and also abused the officers of the Pahalgam development authority when he was subjected to questioning why he was thrashing a state government employee. |
