| Northern command celebrates ‘Raising Day’ | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | June 17 Northern Command of the Indian Army today celebrated its 37th Raising Day. The Command raised in 1972 has been operationally committed for being “Forever in Action, Forever Victorious”. The Command is at the forefront of the Nation’s efforts in eliminating the menace of terrorism in J&K. Lt Gen PC Bhardwaj, Army Commander, Northern Command has extended his greetings and best wishes to all ranks, civilian staff and families of the command on the occasion. He appreciated their, professionalism, courage, endurance and motivation. The Army is also playing a pivotal role in ushering development in the region. Under Operation Sadbhavana, Micro Hydel projects, Army Goodwill Public Schools, Orphanages and hostels have been opened. The Army also continues to sponsor education of children affected by terrorism to other states of India, besides taking a large number of elders and students on tours outside J&K. Befitting the occasion, the troops of the Northern Command rededicated themselves in the service of the nation and re-affirmed their resolve to work for peace, prosperity and development in the State of J&K. |
