| Sudhmahadev mela begins; 10000 devotees expected reach | | | Early Times Reporter Sudhmahadev | June 17 Despite apprehension of rain showers, the devotees in large number took holy dip at Gouri Kund and offered prayers at ancient Shiv temple here on the first day of 3-day mela which commended from today. The rush of pilgrims was gradually picking up and it was expected that nearly10, 000 devotees may arrive here by the evening. According to Hindu mythology the devotees take bath at Gouri Kund on first day of the mela and at Paapnashni Bowl to get spiritual bliss and liberation from sins. Other activities of the mela include providing of free accommodation and langer by Dharmarth Trust and free langer by various social organizations. The temple complex is also tastefully decorated by the trust. The Dharmarth trust is also holding free langer at Maantalai tomorrow. The district administration has made adequate arrangements of security, transport, sanitation, medicare, drinking water and power supply and parking of vehicle. Different departments have also put up their stalls at the venue of the mela for the awareness of common masses about various state and centrally sponsored government schemes. The dignitaries camping at mela sight included MLC Prof. Bhim Singh, MLA Chenani, Faqir Nath and President Dharmarth Trust Thakur Diwaker Singh. |
